Glassfold for Android · Effective 9 October 2026

This policy explains what the Glassfold app (package com.scaleus.glassfold) and this website collect, why, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. The data controller is Scale Us Technologies LLP, Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India ("Scale Us", "we"). Contact: privacy@scaleus.in.

1. The short version

2. What we collect

DataDetailsWhy
Device informationA random install ID generated by the app, device brand, model and codename, Android version and SDK level, screen size, whether it is a foldable and which hinge sensor it has, app version, language/locale, time zone, the country setting of the phone, and the install referrer. To make the effect work correctly on your hardware, to count installs, and to fix model-specific problems.
Network informationWhen the app contacts our server we see your IP address. We store only a shortened network prefix (the last part removed, e.g. 203.0.113.0/24), never the full address, and we clear it 30 days after it was last seen.Abuse prevention and rough country statistics.
Account (optional)Email address, name, sign-in method (email or Google), and whether you agreed to receive product news. With Google sign-in we receive your Google account ID, email and name from Google. To keep your Pro access across phones and, only if you opt in, to send product news.
Purchase statusSubscription product, base plan, Google Play order ID and purchase token, purchase and expiry time, and the subscription state reported by Google Play.To unlock Pro and verify that a subscription is genuine.
Usage eventsApp actions such as opening the app, choosing an effect, viewing the paywall, starting a purchase, or enabling the service, with technical properties (for example the effect name or hinge angle range). To understand which effects people use and to improve the app.

We do not collect your contacts, files, photos, messages, precise location, or anything you type in other apps.

3. Accessibility service

Glassfold offers an optional Android Accessibility service. It is used for exactly two things: (a) detecting when your phone is folded or unfolded and which screen is active, and (b) taking a single picture of the current screen at that moment (Android's takeScreenshot) so the animation can show your real screen moving "through glass". That picture is held in memory for the length of the animation and then discarded. It is never written to storage, never uploaded, and never shared. The service does not read text, record your activity, or interact with other apps. You can turn it off at any time in Android Settings → Accessibility, or use wallpaper mode, which needs no special permission.

4. Advertising and consent

The free version shows ads from Google AdMob, including optional rewarded ads that unlock a Pro effect for 24 hours. AdMob may use your device's advertising ID and similar data to show and measure ads. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland we ask for your consent using Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) before personalised ads are shown, and you can change your choice from the app's settings. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads. See how Google uses data from partner apps.

5. Payments

Subscriptions are sold and charged by Google Play Billing. We never see your card or payment details. Google tells us the subscription status so we can unlock Pro, and our server may confirm it with the Google Play Developer API.

6. Who we share data with

We do not sell personal data. If you opt in to product news, we may use your email address to show you Glassfold or Scale Us offers on advertising platforms (for example via a hashed customer list); you can withdraw that consent at any time.

7. How long we keep data

8. Deleting your data

Use Settings → Delete account in the app, or the form at glassfold.scaleus.in/delete-account, or email privacy@scaleus.in. We delete your account (email, name, Google ID, marketing consent), the usage events of devices linked to it, and the network data of those devices within 30 days. Purchase records are kept only as required by law and are unlinked from you. Uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription — cancel it in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the EU/UK GDPR or India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023) you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your data, to object to or restrict processing, to withdraw consent, and to complain to a data-protection authority. Write to privacy@scaleus.in and we will respond within 30 days. Our legal bases are: performing our contract with you (running the app and Pro), our legitimate interests (security, statistics, improving the app), and your consent (marketing emails and, where required, personalised ads).

10. International transfers and security

Data may be processed in India and in other countries where our providers operate. We protect it with encryption in transit (HTTPS), hashed access tokens, signed entitlements, restricted server access and the minimum data needed.

11. Children

Glassfold is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country) and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes

We will post any change on this page and update the effective date. Material changes will also be shown in the app.
